After an intense three-month Recycle More Minnesota educational campaign in McLeod County, St. Louis County and Western Lake Superior Sanitary District (WLSSD), participating communities saw an average 13 percent improvement in recycling participation (by volume) over years prior.
The campaign, which began in November 2008, utilized Recycle More Minnesota toolkit components on billboards, grocery store displays, movie theater ads and the local public access TV channel. The Curbside Value Partnership (CVP), a program of Keep America Beautiful, selected Minnesota for this educational initiative because of the strength of its statewide education campaign and leadership in recycling.
"We hope this will inspire other communities throughout the state to actively utilize the Recycle More Minnesota campaign materials. The results demonstrate their effectiveness!" - Steve Thompson, Curbside Value Partnership Program Director
