Beltrami County

The Beltrami County website lists specific guidelines as to what materials are or are not recyclable in your area; please consult this list (as well as any materials you may have received from your county or recycling servicer) as you collect your recyclables. But remember, you can always recycle MORE than just what's collected! Reusable goods can be given to thrift stores or churches, food waste can be composted, some materials can be sent directly to remanufacturers... For tips on recycling MORE than what's normally collected, check out our mega list of what can be recycled and how.

Recycling Guidelines

Beltrami County has two categories for recycling:

First Category: CONTAINERS
Tin or aluminum cans; glass bottles; #1 and #2 plastic bottles with necks. All must be rinsed and clear of all product residue. All lids must also be removed.

Second Category: FIBER MATERIALS
Cardboard; boxboard (i.e. cereal boxes); newspapers; magazines; catalogs; phone books; office paper. No waxed, coated or stained cardboard/boxboard; all inserts removed (i.e. cereal bags). No napkins, paper towels or bathroom tissue.

These guidelines are available on the county website in PDF format to view, download and print. The PDF brochure also includes information on appliance, electronic waste and household hazardous waste collection.
